Colorado serviceman dies in Vietnam camp
The Pentagon released a list of 56 American servicemen reported dead while captive in North Vietnam. Among them is Air Force Col. Ward K. Dodge, 45, whose family resides in Colorado Springs. His plane was shot down July 5, 1987 north of Hanoi.

Snowmobile rider killed in crash near Chambers Lake
Fort Collins, Cole AP Larry Mallula of Laramie Wyoming owned a snowmobile dealership was killed twelve miles north of Chambers Lake when his snowmobile collided with Steve Yeoman of Laramie who survived with head injuries. Dr Charles Vivian reported a helicopter was sent from Denver but Mallula was dead on arrival. Yeoman was moved from Laramie to Cheyenne after ambulance transfer. Witnesses said the two men were tuning snow mobiles for a race when the accident occurred.

Eisenhower tunnel opening decision due soon
Denver AP reports state highway engineer Charles Shumate aims to set an exact opening date for the Eisenhower tunnel between Feb 15 and March. Officials hoped for a date within a week of March 1, but at least another week is needed for confirmation. The 1.7 mile tunnel will carry I-7 under the Continental Divide saving drivers from Loveland Pass.
