Old Black Charley Weld County Pioneer Dies
Charley the old black horse, a familiar figure in Greeley, died on Christmas Eve after thirty four years of service. Once owned by T. W. Curtis and later by J. B. Phillips and George Robie, he spent his final years with Weld county pioneer W. M. Darling. The horse carried himself with noble dignity as townsfolk recalled his faithful service. in recent months he weakened and finally laid down in his stall.

The post office will open tomorrow from 11 a m to 1 p m and repeat Sunday hours for holiday expectations. Rural carriers run as usual tomorrow but not on New Year’s Day. German Lutheran Christmas Sunday School Gift
A Christmas tree will be given for the children of the German Lutheran Sunday school at the church this evening. The exercises begin at 7 30. There will be services at 10 o'clock at the church Christmas day and Sunday no services will be held.
Factory Not Liable For Injuries In Sugar Plant Trial
Judge Garrigues ruled the Great Western Sugar Company not liable for injuries suffered by George Williams a subcontractor after a fall from scaffolding at the sugar factory. The suit, brought for eighty five thousand dollars against the company and contractor George Struble, remains before a jury to determine Struble’s degree of responsibility. Williams suffered severe injuries more than a year ago while working as a subcontractor at the plant.
