WELD COUNTY PIONEER TEACHER W. Jefferies adopts George Junior Republic self governance at Owl Creek school in Nunn district forming three pupil committees on order attendance and honor. Seventeen Christmas Trees Stolen From Sunday School

J M Peterson owner of the trees offers 25 dollars reward for information on the theft of 17 Christmas trees intended for a church Sunday school celebration. He reports repeated losses over the past two nights and urges an enterprising person to help recover the trees.

Milliken Bulls Chase Greeley Men Of Law

Former Mayor Green and Judge John T Jacobs encounter a placarded bull while walking near Milliken. The bull charges after them as they flee breaking through barbed wire. Jacobs retreats to help Green who falls twisting an ankle. Both men escape unharmed as the bull calms and the pair decide to avoid future pasture signs.

Aged Colonist Abigail Dunham Failing Health at 94

Mrs Abigail Dunham mother of FE L Dunham has been bed bound for a week with dropsy and heart failure at age ninety four. She has been in good health until this winter and is now under a nurse care with fears for recovery. She is a Union Colonist of Greeley. New Union Depot Favored At Greeley Banquet

A Greeley Commercial club meeting backed a new union depot to serve four railroads and act as a civic center. Senator Clayton’s motion created an eight member committee to pursue the project with the railroads. Dr. Z X Snyder urged architecture as a city asset and cited Denver and Colorado Springs as models.

Bench Warrants Issued for Striking Miners in Colorado

Eldo Tisdel Dies at Age 11 from Rheumatic Fever

Eldo Tisdel died early this morning at his parents home 931 Eleventh Street after a weeklong battle with rheumatic fever. He was eleven, the eldest of four children of Mr. and Mrs. George S. Tisdel. Funeral services will be held at 10 o’clock Wednesday morning at the Christian church conducted by Rev. J. E. Lynn.

Christmas Turkeys Plentiful in Greeley District

Turkeys are plentiful in the Greeley district this Christmas with prices around 22 cents. Farmers aim to move stock to avoid holiday holding and may sell to commission men to lower retail prices. Weld County ships to Denver and a price drop is expected soon as supply remains ample. Prices match Thanksgiving and are slightly lower than last Christmas.

Mrs G R Miller entertained the Normal dames at her residence Monday afternoon with a social literary gathering. Twenty four members attended as the group, wives of faculty, read Stevenson works this year and the Christmas sermon was read. Mrs Schenck of Denver, mother of Mrs Hochbaum, attended as a guest, and refreshments were served.
