Sugar Company announces a plan to lower seed costs, aiming to reduce overall prices for farmers. Officials say the move will affect seed supply, with the goal of easing production expenses and boosting crop yields this season.
Farmers of Weld County win seed for 10 cents a pound instead of 15 under a ruling by the Great Western Sugar factory after a conference. The Greeley plant will close tomorrow while Eaton and Windsor factories shut on January 1, giving farmers thousands in savings amid celebration.
Pay day details show Greeley factory distributing 36000 to farmers and 8600 to employees while Eaton and Windsor factories allocate tens of thousands to both groups. Sugar beet deliveries from November 1 to 30 support forecasts of hundreds of thousands of tons and significant acreage contracts for next season.

Special gifts will be given to the most faithful attendees of the year. A fine program will feature music by the church choir Sunday school and string band.
Father Casey will entertain the children of the Cathole church at the church Christmas afternoon. The youngsters expect a great time as Father Casey’s entertainments are always of the best.
Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Baker traveled to Denver today and plan to proceed to their former Kansas home to spend Christmas.
A farmer and Odd Fellows member from Eaton, Lane, was drugged with chloral by two strangers aboard a train to Ohio. He lost consciousness and was revived after hours of medical care in LaSalle, unable to identify his assailants. Sheriff Florance alerted.
Harley Lane fell unconscious on a 3:20 train after drinking a drugged beverage. Doctors at Cottage hotel treated him until late night as two strangers vanished, with Greeley police and the sheriff seeking the pair believed to have fled toward Denver. Lane hopes to resume travel, but the incident prompts a regional manhunt and hospital checks.
Judge Garrigues issued a decree granting H Doud of Crow Creek a clear title to his property. The dispute centered on a prior mortgage by Union Pacific and a federal court grant to William G Evans and others before the mortgage was filed.

Judge Garrigues set the week of April 3 for execution after overru ling a new trial motion, with attorney B F Hill seeking a restraining order from the supreme court and Peil's penniless wife pledging support to delay the sentence.
Attorneys have sixty days to file a bill of exceptions as Judge Garrigues declines a new trial for Peil in the Kerber stabbing case near Johnstown. Peil remains under guard in county jail after verdict, awaiting formal action. He is en route to Canon City penitentiary after a night in Denver.
Eaton Congregational church to raise special Christmas Eve funds for Cherry Illinois disaster victims. 300 bereaved families will be remembered with a collection for women and children. Salvation Army in Greeley to receive a Christmas donation, plus clothing and articles to aid the needy. Church will send mission materials to twelve global stations.

The Ladies' Aid Society of the Methodist church held its annual bazaar and supper on Saturday night. Mrs J E Bartz led the committee with assistance from Mrs Harry Teller and Miss Harries as they hosted a successful social and financial event.
Edward Goshert 31 died at home Saturday night of typhoid pneumonia. Funeral will be at First Presbyterian Church at 2 in the afternoon. Rev. J. J. Lace and Rev. R. J. Hunter to conduct. He is survived by his wife and two children.
