Meeker High School Playlet Presented In Ninth Grade Assembly

The Meeker junior high staged a playlet Who Says Cant and a health tale by Elizabeth Holland at the ninth grade assembly. Cast included Donald Koenig Josalebeth Danielson Jack Colleghan Harriet Robinett Angeling Drown and Jack Holland. The program was directed by Carrie D B Chireh and featured a student-composed troupe. Inheritance tax payments for the first half of December totaled 26762 dollars and 71 cents with district payments listed. A 1937 bicycle license plate program for Greeley goes into effect. riders within city limits must purchase a plate for 60 cents each, with compliance due by January 1.

L A Plane Missing With Four and Crew May Be Found

Salt Lake City dispatch reports a Los Angeles to Salt Lake City airliner missing with four passengers and crew including Gladys Witt a famed hostess. Western Air Express says the plane diverted from its route and may have made a forced landing near Boreemote field in southern Italy. E M Rea Dies After Tree Trimming Accident

Edward M Rea 61 of 1636 Sixth Avenue died from injuries after falling from a tree while trimming near the Johnson home at Eighth Avenue and Sixteenth Street. He sustained a skull fracture and was rushed to Greeley hospital. he had lived in Huron country for over 80 years and once ran a large irrigated ranch. His stepson Henry Spellocacy, 21, was working with him.

12-Year-Old Bride’s Marriage Is Annulled In Indiana

Logansport Indiana December 16 juvenile court officials annulled the marriage of 12 year old Myrila Leadbetter to James Cluck a factory employee born 1907. The ceremony occurred recently with the consent of the girl’s mother. Clark was sent to the state reformatory to begin a one to ten year term after pleading guilty to attacking the girl.

Brakeman Is Fatally Hurt at Milliken

David DB Northcutt a 97 year old brakeman from Laveland on the 4 Great Waster Leet team died after an accident in Milliken switchyards Tuesday morning. He fell beneath wagon wheels and suffered severe leg injuries. He died at Greeley hospital at 10 am. Emergency responders and local doctors treated him but could not save him.
