Colorado Supreme Court Upholds Carr and O'Toole Convictions

The Colorado Supreme Court unanimously affirmed the convictions of James T. Carr and William F. E. O'Toole for conspiring to extort $8,000 from the Mekesson Robbins wholesale liquor firm as part of a license issuance and tax settlement. The justices held the jury could not be misled about the money's intent or legal fee status, and both defendants remain under sentence with appeals pending.

Loss reports conflict from Philippines disaster scene

Reports from government and provincial authorities in the Cagtyen valley area of the Philippines conflict over dead and missing counts after the December 4 disaster. Officials note 36 dead, 147 missing, 54 found alive, about 10,000 affected, 92 houses destroyed and 90 percent crop damage. Radcliffe Toy Drive Aids Gréelay Fire Department Drive

Vern Radcliffe has collected 800 to 1000 toys through the exchange club to aid the Greelay fire department. The toys were delivered to his jewelry store in response to his appeal and will be distributed at the campaign close at 5 30 o clock Tuesday evening by the department volunteers.

Two Hurt In Collision On 6th Avenue

Two people were injured when a crash occurred at the Sixth Avenue and Sixteenth Street intersection in Greeley. Francis Greenwood 17 and Harvey Greenwood 35 were taken to Greeley Hospital as doctors assessed injuries from shock and chill.

County Board Signs Budget for New Year

Two Weld county commissioners signed a resolution approving the 1937 budgets of county offices with minor changes. Commissioner Charles C. Truck Driver Dies of Burns After Wreck in Denver

M. Wm. Liza aged 26 of 1919 South Santa Ma Drive died early Monday at Denver General Hospital from burns after his truck overturned on West Paird avenue ne and Chutakaa street. A collision with a machine driver caused the gasoline to ignite. Lizar was enveloped in flames and died after blood transfusions. This marked the year’s to date twenty fifth traffic death near Denver.

Court Upholds Seizure of Pinball Machines by Police

Colorado's six electoral votes were formally cast for Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S. Garner. The ceremony occurred in Gov. Ed. Two Boys Held in Alamosa Shooting Probe

Alamosa December 14 two year old Grant Inight and Amos Shian crofe, sons of prominent Gonedos county families, are in custody as authorities probe the shooting death of Join Dalton, 23, at a Nortonville school dance. Witnesses describe an argument involving the Dalton family and youths. Dalton's brother Tos Dalton, 19, allegedly struck Knight, leading to Knight obtaining a pistol and a fatal shot to John Dalton's heart. Chief Boggs suffered a stomach ailment, collapsed at the station, and was moved home, later able to return briefly to the office.
