German Impressionist on West Berlin stamp honored
Art lovers note Max Liebermann 1847 1935 honored by West Berlin with a 40 pfennig stamp marking his birth anniversary and featuring a self portrait on wood. The issue joins other new West German stamps in the Safety First series. A US First Day Cover list for American Revolution related stamps is offered free by the American First Day Cover Society. Britain highlights ancient village churches in a new stamp set, while ASDA sponsors two philatelic fairs. Norway issues four stamps for its 1100th unification. The Cape Hatteras 2¢ stamps printing increased and Guernsey stamps feature a Guernsey bull. The world’s smallest first day cover measures 13 4 by 2 78 inches.
