The Gravity Iown post office lists the paper as second class. The editor Francis notes the radio efforts to spread the word before this year’s band event, saying it’s better to be twelve hours early than twelve hours late compared with last year.
Radio publicity touted a Friday storm with a freezing morning then a real blizzard by noon as temperatures plummeted. Weather officials faced sharp criticism for not forecasting the Armia the day blizzard and zero weather last year, signaling renewed efforts to avert a repeat.
Mrs Chancy H Webster Hutchinson daughter of Mary and Thomas Hutchinson was born in Elizbethtown Kentucky on May 7 1857 and died November 18 1941 at C A Barnes home near Gravity Iowa aged 84 years 6 months 11 days She moved with her family to Illinois as a child and later to Iowa She joined the Methodist church young and remained a member until 1920 when she joined the China church.
The Corning community notes the death of a long time resident who passed away after nine months in care at her daughter’s home. She married Chancy Webster on December 25, 1877 and survived by three of four children, including Charles of Denver and Earl of Corning, plus Mrs C A Barnes and Mrs W L Masker. Also left are six half siblings, twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services were held at the Christian church in Corning with burial in Gravity cemetery.
Mr and Mrs Garth Sharp of Mound City Missouri spent Thursday of last week visiting her parents Mr and Mrs Geo Depew.
Mr and Mrs Arthur Meyera drove to Davis City Sunday and visited with their son Kenneth and their daughter Mrs Lawrence Atteberry and family.

A historical recipe describes making butter brickle from butter sugar water and chocolate. The method involves boiling to a brown syrup, adding almonds and walnuts, pouring onto a greased slab, cutting into squares, then brushing with malted chocolate and finishing with chopped nuts for a caramel colored candy.
Mr and Mrs Roy Coan travel from Des Moines to join their sisters Mrs J 8S Francis and Mrs Ray Walker and their husbands for Thanksgiving.
Mrs Carrie McColm departed Tuesday evening for Lincoln Nebraska to spend several weeks at her daughter's home.
Omaha residents Harold and Chester Chamberlin visited with their parents Mr and Mrs E mer Chamberlin. Lloyd Bucher of Colorado stayed with aunt Mrs Ira Jewell and relatives, then left for Webb City Missouri with Mrs Jewell. Rev and Mrs C W Proctor and son Chas visited Des Moines last Thursday.
