The Nate Sexon family hosted Thanksgiving at the parental home on Thursday with many relatives and a large spread. Attendees included Joe O Neal and family Lea Mortimer and baby from Omaha Jesse Sexton Pete Dougherty James Hardesty Carl Sexton and families along with Mr and Mrs Sexton and Dale.
The usual Thanksgiving dinner was enjoyed at the home of Mrs C J Nelson and Peggy. Guests included Mrs Jennie Alexander Mrs Lottie McColm Mee S L Ray Mrs Fannie Kimpton Mes S B Smith Herbert Reeve Billie Joe and Bobbie Lee Swan and the guests of honor. Although in her ninety four year grandmother Nelson shared in the meal. Her life stands as an example of patience charity and thoughtfulness of others. During the summer her only child Ora died suddenly. through her daughter in law’s care she is comforted and at peace.
Sunlight Lodge A F and A M elects officers at its regular meeting held Tuesday evening in the Lodgerooms. Elected are W M GC C Hill S W Harry Lambley J W Har King Treasurer J A Gaebler Secretary G E Smith.
Mr and Mrs Oliver Posten drove to Des Moines on Thursday to visit their daughter Mrs Len Gallagher and her husband. They returned home Friday. Miss Clara Louise Morris of Des Moines spent Thanksgiving with her parents Mr and Mrs Paul Morris.
Mr and Mrs Clyde Damewood drove to Elliott on Saturday to attend funeral services for the mother of Mrs Lester Humphrey at that place.
Lenox defeated Gravity 66 to 46 in the girls game with Manemaker top scoring 38 for Lenox and Brokaw adding 22 as Ledgerwood Hayes and Lambley paced Gravity. In the boys game Gravity won 41 to 14, led by McMahill with 24 points and Levitt adding 10.
We thank friends for sympathy after our mother’s death and especially those who furnished music and pallbearers. Mr and Mrs Fred Weller, Mr and Mrs Chas Weller and Family, Smith Weller.

Farnham of this plac and Mr Harvey Anderson of New Market were married at Maryville Missouri Wednesday evening November 26 at eight o clock. The Binogle ring ceremony was conducted by Rev Sherman Mace. The bride has been a successful rural school teacher in the county for years and will teach briefly this week before moving with Mr Anderson to a farm north of New Market. He also runs the farm and is in auction business. Friends extend congratulations.
Machine Alexander visited Sunday with the Humbert family east of Bedford.
Mrs Mae Miller of Omaha called on her uncle and aunt Mr and Mrs Riley Richardson on Monday.
Mr and Mrs Grover Douglas of Red Oak were Thanksgiving Day guests of his mother Mer Maggit Douglas.
Guests included children Mrs Gene Wellbrecht and husband of Waterloo Claude Campbell wife and baby of Alexander and Rex Campbell and wife of Des Moines. Mr and Mrs Rex Campbell returned home the same evening while the others remained until Sunday.

Mrs Kenneth Lock, a recent bride, received two post nuptial celebrations last Friday. An afternoon miscellaneous shower at Mrs Jay Lovitt home featured a program, social time, refreshments, and miniature parasols. Out of town guests included Mrs S L Clabaugh Essex and Mrs Glen Lovitt Bedford. Evening events at Mrs Elvin Beemer’s home formed a miscellany shower with games, visiting, and lunch. Hosts for both events were Mrs Ed Lock, Mrs Hart Sturm, Mrs Glen Lock, and Mrs Howard Sturm.
Mr and Mrs John Goodhue and their sons of Carlisle spent Thanksgiving Day here with her parents, Mr and Mrs Tom Young.
Local Red Cross report shows 100 pounds received from membership and 44.60 from contributions totaling £910.55. Half of this amount or 25.77 will stay for local use, with the remainder allocated elsewhere.
Mr and Mrs E J Posten celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary with an open house. Friends are invited at their home on December 6 from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM to honor the occasion.
Mrs Nova Klakken died at her Outlook Montana home Sunday afternoon. She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs A C Berry of this place. The body is being brought here for burial with funeral plans to be set after arrival, likely tomorrow.
Mr and Mrs Rile Richardson visited Sunday with their daughter Mrs Tom Roberts and her husband near Bedford. In the afternoon they drove to Woda way where they visited their granddaughter Mrs John Agnew and family.
Mr and Mrs Frank Beemer of Creston were guests of Mr and Mrs Paul Morris at dinner Saturday. The social gathering included conversation and plans for future visits to area events.
