Mre Effis Koreene, who had been visiting at her son Orla Koneene's home near Corning, returned home Sunday.
Misa Zona Posten traveled by bus to Des Moines on Wednesday to spend Christmas Day with her sister-in-law Stella Posten and her niece Len Gila gher and family.
Mr and Mrs Harry Livingston of Cherokee came Saturday and visited until Sunday with Mrs Livingston's sister, Mrs Jay Levitt and family. They went to Greenfield to have dinner with his brother, and wife and from there returned to Cherokee.
Lon Themae, a former resident, died at his California home last week. His body was brought to Bedford where a funeral service was held Sunday and burial occurred in the local cemetery.
The Gravity Mutual Telephone Company will hold its regular annual meeting on January 3 at 2 p.m. in the Gravity town hall. All bids must reach the secretary by that time. H V Dowell, Secretary.
The Methodist Church, Pastor W J Weber, preaches at 10 a m on the subject Christian Retrospect. Church School will follow the worship service.
Bertha A Brown pastor leads Free Methodist Church services including Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. Ministry of the Word at 11:00. Young People's Service at 7:00 and a preaching service at 7:30 p.m. A fast prayer meeting is held Friday at 10:00 a.m. All are invited to attend.

The W.8.C. 5S. met Thursday afternoon with Mrs Arthur Meyerg, Mina Stirleyp Crow, a Maryville College student, who came Friday to spend her holiday with her parents, Mr and Mrs Clarence Crow. A son was born to Mr and Mrs Glen Corum Friday December 19 at the Municipal hospital in Cisrinda.
Mr and Mrs Ralph Lucas of Omaha will spend Christmas Day with her parents, Mr and Mrs Claude Gray.
Me and Mrs Carl Werner of Des Moines spent Monday here. They were accompanied home by Mrs Werner's mother Mrs K M Dameawned who plans to remain in Des Moines until March 1. Mr and Mrs Werl Kisy apese Sunday with his mother Mrs Georgia Kling near Blockton. Word was received here Friday of the death of Mrs Will Heatherington mother of Mrs Vern Wilson who has been in poor health for some time, funeral services were held Sunday at New Market.
Mr and Mrs Bob King of Britt are spending the holidays in town with their pirate companion. The trio plans festive gatherings and local outings amid seasonal cheer.
