A Goldfield Nevada relief appeal states a disastrous recent fire left about 200 families destitute. It asks for several thousand dollars in aid, with remittances payable to A. Fire treasurer at the John S. Bank in Goldfield Nevada.
Thomas Walter Higginbotham, a former convict whipping boss, was found guilty of second degree murder in the death of Martin Tabert. He received a twenty year sentence after a thirteen day trial in Lake City Florida.

Helena Mont July 10 The supreme court upheld the trial court ruling that insufficient names signed a petition to require Fergus county officials to submit a new Petroleum county creation question at election. The decision affirmed withdrawals from the petition and from the withdrawal list as not invalidating the petition process.
