Williams burg postmaster named in voyage county

Ralph D. White has been appointed postmaster at Williamsburg in Grand Traverse county. Death of Curtis Bryant occurred at his brother’s Peninsula street residence at 6 am Monday. Funeral at 10 am Wednesday. Marriage notices to follow including Norrisville pair Rudolph Groslick and Minnie Krone at Rev. Wright’s residence and Charles Pray and Roe becca Pray of Mabel. Republicans claim a strong Michigan victory with Bliss likely by about 40,000 and statewide majorities larger than expected across Congress and Senate posts.

Congressman Darragh Endorsed by Republicans in Michigan

St Louis Mich Nov 6 Congressman A B Darragh has won a strong GOP endorsement in Michigan 11th district. Early returns from two thirds of precincts show a 9000 to 10000 plurality with Gratiot yielding 1947 against his 1945 result. Gains reported across the district despite a light vote.

Noted Parental Error Endangers 10 Month Old Child

At about 2 o’clock this morning Mrs. Charles Watts of 210 North Oak street nearly cost her 10 month old child its life. A mix up gave the infant carbolic acid instead of paregoric. Mrs. Watts detected the error from lip burns and called Dr. W. S. Moon, who rushed to the Oak street home.

Tragic Child Dies After Initial Hopeful Recovery

From Wednesday's Record a young child appeared out of danger then worsened after 4 pm. Despite diligent care by the father, in the carpenter shop of GO M Parmenter, the child died at 6 15 pm from shock. Funeral held yesterday at the parents' home with Rev. Mr Woodhouse officiating. Funeral of Miss Alma Porter at Congregational church

The funeral for Alma Louisa Porter aged 22, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Porter of Old Mission, was held at the Congregational church on Wednesday morning October 29. Rev. A. C. Van Anken preached, with Rev. Leroy Warren and Rev. B. Hebert assisting. Porter had undergone two operations for appendicitis and died October 27 at 9:15 a.m. A faithful church member, she served as Sabbath school teacher and CI society secretary. She lived in Old Mission all her life. Interment was at Ogdensburg cemetery, with six uncles as pallbearers.
