Witte Couple Convicted of Assault and Battery

Death in Interlochen Hinted From Poisoning Cause
John R. Connine age 52 died at his home in Karlin from suspected food poisoning after cheese or ice cream. The family shared the meal. Mrs. Connine and son Claude recover. Surviving are wife Esther Davis Connine, Claude, daughters Ya Bartley Buckley and Mrs Frank Middaugh Bronson, Mich., three grandchildren, a father and stepmother, and a half brother Ed Connine. Funeral at Wexford church Saturday at 1 pm under Odd Fellows with interment at Dawns cemetery.

Fire damages East Front cigar store and basement stocks
A midnight blaze in the basement of John Bosley’s East Front Street cigar store and pool room caused about 5500 in damage before firefighters contained it. The fire, likely starting in tar paper storage, forced evacuation of several rooms and soaked Bosley’s pool tables while Wilhelmsen and LaFontsee losses mounted.
