Wencel Bartak a early Bohemian settler of Traverse City died after a short illness from paralysis. Born July 4 1825 in Bohemia he came to America with his family after hardship and settled in Traverse City where he ran an undertaking business before his wife died six years ago. He leaves four children and five grandchildren.

Deaths and Funerals Record from Saturday's Prom
The funeral of John Moran was held at St Francis church at nine this morning with Fr Bauer officiating. Relatives traveled from multiple towns to attend, including Mr and Mrs Columbus Boismere of Mabel and Mr and Mrs Thomas Moran of Bates. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery. Undertaker H L Carer oversaw arrangements as Solomon Trude died at 9 20 this morning at his son Eugene Trude’s home after a Tuesday illness. he was 70 years old.
