In Cedar City a jumble of local notes mentions Mr and Mrs Fred Dango traveling to Maple City and plans for a sale. Miss Ruby Tillman visiting Traverse City. Grandma Swabodd is very ill with small hope of recovery. Dr Wilhelm visited and a group of guests entertained a companion of ladies and gentlemen from a nearby area.
Consumer guidance on flour quality and bread results. The ad emphasizes selecting Crescent Hour flour, noting a blue guarantee tag allowing refunds if unsatisfied after baking. Encourages careful shopping to protect the family and improve baking success.
Social event at the Voigt Milling Company in Grand Rapids and Maple City featured a Valentine party with red and white decor. Prizes went to Dr. and Mrs. Pralek of Maple City and Frank Kirt with Mrs. Adam Bellinger of Maple City. guests departed in the early morning hours after a modest gathering with refreshments.
In Elk Lake Feb 12 a note says Will Gee and wife traveled to Traverse City Friday. Olive Dobson was busy last week entertaining a severe cold.
A. V. Friedrich and wife depart for Florida on the noon train for an extended trip visiting Baltimore and Washington D C to see their son Spaulding. Louis Yingling returns home from a business visit to this city. John W. Foote spends a few days at Reed City. Mr. and Mrs. L A Williams travel to Mancelona for the death of Mrs Williams father. Mrs H C Pettis visiting Beulah this week. Mr. and Mrs. H J Miller return home from Interlochen with business in Petoskey. Rev D Wellington Curran goes to Grand Rapids on a business trip. Thomas J Brief heads to Kingsley for a week of business. Mrs F J Boyd returns home from Maplesy and nearby visits to Walkagha. G K Watkins travels to Petoskey for a few days business. Mrs Emma Maffard visits Gayford. A F Owen goes to Big Rapids for the day. S Baldwin leaves for ProWayne Ind for an extended visit, returning in about three weeks. Mrs John Martin of Gaylord arrives for business. Rachel Harrington leaves for Detroit to tend sister Mrs Fred Freeman ill. Mrs F Shook and Frances arrive from Beloit Kan to tend the ill.
The city sees a flood of short trips as numerous residents depart for Grand Rapids Detroit Sarnia Sault Ste Marie and other points on business leisure and family visits. Several names appear including Mrs Prrrikk Baren J A Purvis O Herkner Leo J Kehoe and Miss Nellie Packard among others with plans spanning a few days to a week plus trips to Kingsley Grand Rapids and Detroit for millinery shopping banking and relatives.
