He said the gathering was one of the best ever with timely papers and valuable discussions for fruit growers. The next annual meeting place was not decided. Invitations went to Traverse City Kalama zo and another town. Kalamazoo was passed over due to prior meetings there. The final choice rests between Traverse City and the remaining town, with Traverse City favored.

Adolphus Bowman Civil War Veteran Dies at 72
Adolphus Bowman aged 72 died Saturday evening at his home 76 East Eighth street after a brief illness. A Civil War veteran he belonged to MacPherson Post G A R in the city for years. He leaves a widow four daughters and three sons. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at his home under G A R auspices and the body was taken to Williamsburg for burial.

Solon boy suffers deep tongue wound after school play
Danny Gallivan seven, son of Mr and Mrs Mert Gallivan of Solon, was injured in a collision while playing pon pon pullaway after school yesterday. His tongue was badly lacerated when his teeth closed on it near the tip as he ran into older boys. He was brought to town for medical attention today.
