In Grand Traverse region Otsego residents attend funerals and tradesmen freshen storefronts while locals report berry crop prospects and land purchases near the railroad. A Northport ball trip to Charlevoix ends in defeat as area visitors mix with church dedications, travels to Traverse City and Suttons Bay, and various family visits across towns.
Weather halted harvest and field work as rain persisted at Cox's Corners. Farmers rely on threshing by Harry Dowd for William Cox and others, yielding about twenty bushels per acre. Miss Dora Bavis travels to the city to work for her aunt. Larl Wells and family and Miss Al la Hammond spent Sunday with friends near Monroe Center. Mr and Mrs U S Blue were called to Defiance Ohio because of a seriously ill relative. Lee and Albert McRi of Buckley visited their sister Mrs Davis this week. Bert Monroe and family spent Sunday with C A Hammond. Miss Lydia Brrmley and Miss Satie visited Dorn basis Sunday August 1.

Lloyd East from Cass County will fill the pulpit at the Friends church today. Mrs Van Nostrand traveled to Traverse Tuesday to meet her sister from Chicago. several residents including Mrs John Newell Mrs Win Tremain and Miss Clara Williams are mentioned as visiting relatives or staying with families in the village.

The fishermen find the weather too wet and cold, though crops look fine. A J White spent Sunday at his father's and returned to Crescent Monday. T R White, a Solon juror, went back to Leland this morning. Mr. and Mrs. Wil Chase and family returned Saturday from Duck Lake where they camped for weeks. Mrs. Dickeman returned this morning after visiting Old Mission and Traverse City. Miss Agnes Good of Bedford Ohio visits her father and brother I Wy Good and family. Mrs C W Loeffler and daughter Esther and little Victor were visiting.
