The Wequetong club plans the second annual regatta at Traverse City with innovations for visiting yachtsmen. Entries pour in from Charlevoix Petoskey Harbor Springs and other resorts while Harbor Springs hosts debate over Tycoon the defending cup winner. Races will include speed boats oarsmen canoeists swimmers cruisers and motorboats with cruiser entries from Charlevoix Petoskey Harbor Springs Omena Northport Elk Rapids and Traverse City.

Ten Day Cruise by Traverse City Naval Reserve Div

The Traverse City division of the state naval reserves sails for a ten day cruise aboard the gunboat Yantic. About 35 officers and men travel north on the Pere Marquette at 6 20 to Mackinaw then to Hancock to join their vessel for a lake Superior tour. Uniforms and arms await on board at Hancock. The trip combines warfare drill with practical training to benefit future interests of the organization.

Approved Bath House Plans Promised For Grand Rapids Resort

Engineer Jones from the Grand Rapids G R I backs the Bath House on the railreach grounds after reviewing Secretary Hol ley's plans. The 100 by 16 foot structure will feature end chutes with roller toboggans, water depth markers, and a caretaker with police powers to ensure order. The railroad will lease land and beautify grounds with soil, lawn, trees, and shrubbery to attract resorters to the bay.

Guests rise early for swims or bass and pickerel fishing, with many visitors already and more coming.

E W McMichael aged 50 years died at his Benton Michigan home after a long bowel illness. A farmer in the area he lived near Bendon for years and leaves a widow and three children. A short funeral service will be held at home this evening then the body will be taken to Waterleac for burial.

Rapid City August 5 a fire destroyed W W Moore’s drug store which housed the postoffice. The village lacks fire protection and the entire building and stock were lost. The post office mail and supplies were destroyed and damage runs to several thousand dollars, insured. Origin of the fire unknown.
