A packed 1200 strong crowd at the City Opera House heard Dr Anna Shaw of New York, national president of the Woman's Suffrage Society, explain voting amendments and the ballot's use. Local officials and school children were featured as part of a broad program praising equality and civic rights.
Venice California April 1 Officials act to curb race deaths by self harm. Mayor Holbrook fears increased mortality and offers inducements to Dr Stork to relocate. Washington April 2. Senator Poindexter announced that all official Progressive bills will be introduced in the upper house early in the special session with Rep Murdock of Kansas as sponsor in the house. The package includes child labor prohibition, a minimum wage for women, eight hour day in 24 hour industries, end to prison contract labor, wages to prisoners’ families, and creation of an industrial commission among other reforms.
J Al Bullen longtime Old Mission evaporator operator dies after a four week illness at the hospital following an early morning shooting. Survived by two sons Joseph and Donovan and daughter Amy, his body lies in state at Anderson's until 10 am Wednesday. Funeral trains to Mason Michigan will transport the party for services and burial.
Albert Morrison aged 37, unmarried, died at his home after a brief illness. He worked at Will's general store and suffered a stroke Saturday night, dying at 6 last evening. Survived by a sister in Williamsburg, a Detroit brother, and another sister in Ohio. Funeral held Wednesday at 1:40 pm at M. I. church, with Williamsburg Odd Fellows service, burial in Acme cemetery.
