Farmers hear field demonstrations on alfalfa preparation and profit comparison with other crops. A convoy of about twenty carried speakers and literature across Rennie Pinon Grawn Buckley and Rennie school, drawing crowds from multiple farming classes and ending with a look at a 30 acre field doubling profits through alfalfa practices.
Walter M Baird died at home in Williamsburg Murray after several months illness. He was age 68 and lived in Williamsburg for many years with his first wife Cornelia Story La who died nine years ago. Surviving children include Merrill E Baird Walter M Baird Melvin Isaac and several others with spouses in Detroit Novi and Traverse City. Funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon at 2 oclock with interment in Williamsburg cemetery.

The Gentral Mettorist Episcopalian church in northern Michigan celebrated the consecration of a $62,006 edi fee to worship. Over 140 miles traveled, two meetings in the evenings, and many questions show strong local support for expanding alfalfa on farms, with potential income rises estimated at $50,000 if 7,000 acres are adopted. The final day weather hindered travel but did not dampen attendance as crop moisture improved.
