John M Murphy of Elainewood and Eva Martha of Northpeare were united in marriage Thursday at 3 pm in a ceremony officiated by Rev. Fuller Rheebon. The bride wore a gown of embroidered tulle and carried bridal roses. groom wore a crown of white embroidery and carried white carnations. Miss Jessica Rosmin and Mirion Lederle wed at St Mares church Frovemont Tuesday morning. The ceremony was by Rev Father with Miss Josephine Day as maid of honor and Archie Lederle as best man. After a three course lunch at Frank Hamilton's home the couple traveled by auto to Grand Rapids Detroit and other points for two weeks. They will reside at the Nicholas for the summer. Both are prominent Leland residents.
Mrs Mary J Trude an old resident died suddenly at her daughter's home in Battle Creek on Friday June 6 at age 78 She came from Nebraska years ago to farm near Bingham Six children survive including Mrs Jane Morgan of Vail Iowa Mrs Mary Brillhart and Mrs Belle McMay of Battle Creek Frank Eugene and William Trude of this city The remains were brought home today Funeral services were held Sunday at the Bingham church Rev Pohly officiating and interment occurred at the Hingham cemetery
A large force at Tay o wenta camp near Torch Lake prepares sew equipment and facilities for the summer high school conference running June 24 to July 4. The youth camp for ages 12 to 16 offers four two week periods with heavy state registrations. O F Field of the University of Missouri is named camp director for the summer assisted by experts in boys work including J A Van Die, M C A secretary, headquartered in Ann Arbor. A few vacancies remain for the regular camp.

Lavi LaFontsee of Rapid City dies aged 0. His son Dan Lafontees confirms the loss. He served 25 years at Hennah and Day Mere Go store and sailed the Great Lakes for 29 years as Captain LaVontsee. Survived by eight children and three daughters. Funeral from St Francis Church Saturday at 8:00 a.m.

A severe wind change spared Petoskey from total ruin when a mill and nearby structures faced destruction. The W. J. McManus planing mill burned, its owners insured, while the Marlin grocery suffered losses but was partially covered. Arrangements for transporting 200 Civil War veterans from Vermont to Gettysburg for the battle anniversary were set at the opening of the annual encampment of the Department of Vermont Grand Army of the Republic.
