Williams recently surrendered to the ministry from Terrell Missionary Baptist Church and is noted for presenting youth messages. The public is invited.

Grass Fires Responded By Local Fire Department

Chief Perry Pugh reported grass fires at Bible Church on N Spring Street June 18 at 6 45 pm. A tractor caused a blaze at Charles Dale Thompson Farm Jones Community June 19 around 10 80 am, taking about three hours to control. Another grass fire broke out at Rainbow Courts June 21 at 3 pm.

Terrell Veterans Plan Annual July Celebration

Terrell veterans announced their 39th July celebration from July 1 to July 5. A July 4 parade will run down Moore Avenue with a free barbecue luncheon, speaking program, musical contest, and baseball tournament. Audie Murphy will be master of ceremonies and Congressman Olin Teague the principal speaker. Schaefer's Shows will be on the midway.

Savings Bond Sales Report For Van Zandt County

May cash sales of E and H bonds and Freedom Shares in Van Zandt County totaled 32,290 dollars, per Chairman Stanford of the county savings bonds committee. Statewide May sales reached 3,140,047 dollars with 39 percent of the 200,000 dollar goal. January to May sales were 71,500 dollars as part of the Texas total. Freedom Shares reached 1,056,276 dollars for the period, compared to 812,641 in 1968, with the month’s county total at 4,042,001 dollars versus 919,122 in 1968.

Rikki Spry, 17, born in Edinburgh, moved with his family from Nova Scotia to the United States in 1964. He plans to study pharmacy at the University of Texas at Arlington after graduating Mineola High School. He contrasted Scottish and American schools, noting curriculums and social life differences, and shared impressions of gas prices, salaries, transportation, and local customs. He assisted in photography work for newspapers and the police in Morristown, Tennessee, during Cementation Inc. projects.

J F Angeley Killed In Highway Work Near Goldthwaite

J F Angeley 61 of Grand Saline died in a highway construction accident near Goldthwaite Monday morning while working for McKinney James Construction. He fell from his seat and was run over by the equipment. He had lived in Grand Saline 14 years, was a Baptist veteran of World War I. Funeral held Wednesday at Main Street Baptist Church Grand Saline officiated by Rev Dan Hubbell under Bartley Funeral Home direction. Survived by wife Sibyl, son William Angeley of Artesia NM, and two sisters Jewell Graham of Fort Worth and Lorena Wesendorf of Calit.
