Park Swimming Pool To Open Friday With Ribbon Cutting
Park Swimming Pool will open Friday at 1 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by city and area dignitaries and Grand Saline Youth Foundation members. The pool will operate 1-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1-6 p.m. Sunday, with lessons offered and strict safety rules in force.

Odessa artist Thacker Cole will debut a month long show at the Westward Ho Art Gallery in Grand Saline with oils and Western rustic scenes. Grand opening is 10 a.m. June 30 in the Westward Ho Motor Lodge lobby, with Cole and art representative David Echols in attendance. The gallery will be open daily 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and exhibits rotate monthly.

Holman Killed In Accident Near Mineola
Wayne Holman aged 32 died in a one car crash about 6 p.m. Monday thirty miles west of Mineola on old Highway 80. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Mineola justice of the peace E T Raynes. Funeral services were pending at Bartley Funeral Home.

Raids nab alcohol and drug violators across Van Zandt County
Local law enforcement conducted four alcohol related raids resulting in multiple arrests. Donald W. Gandy Marvin Edwards Randolph Williams faced charges and bonds.
