Good attendance at the church Sunday. Bro. Goins of Dallas delivered a fine lesson. Mrs Ruth Davis left for San Diego to spend the summer. GE opens new Tyler home heating plant in Texas
General Electric began moving into its new seven acre Tyler plant housing the Home Heating and Cooling Department. The air conditioned facility cost about 15 million dollars and will employ 250 by 1956 with potential to reach 1,000+. The plant features a large lab, three miles of overhead conveyors, railroad tracks, and space for production of central home cooling units.

Reunion of Monroe clan gathers kin from many towns
The Tate family hosts a large reunion at the old home place with 12 living children represented. Attendees include Monroes from Dallas Edison Tyler Mineola Grand Saline Fort Worth and Oklahoma among others. The event features a well attended singing session and family updates as relatives enjoy a weekend together.
