Texas schools earn record number of exemplary ratings
Education Commissioner Mike Moses announced that 1,042 of Texas public school campuses, 15 percent, earned the top exemplary rating under the TAAS based accountability system. To qualify, 90 percent overall and for each student group had to pass reading, writing and math, with dropout under 1 percent and attendance at 94 percent. Sixty campuses were low performing, a record low. Moses cited strong improvement across districts.
