High Street Closure Planned for Culvert Replacement
Grand Saline Public Works Director Scott Strickland announced at the council meeting that a section of High Street between Fielder and Saline will be closed next week to replace a large culvert. If the culvert arrives as planned, the street could close as early as Tuesday and remain closed for two or three days with traffic rerouted and drivers advised to use alternate routes.

Board members discussed early stage proposals for a new high school led by Swain Mayo of WRA Dallas. Initial costs started at 8.5 million with an actual construction estimate of 6.7 million plus fees and an eight percent contingency. Plans show a 74 500 square foot facility with 14 500 square feet of ag buildings a 3200 square foot band hall and space for 80 students 17 classrooms a gym cafeteria and two seminar rooms. The board aims to adjust the plan to a voter acceptable range.
