Mikie Furrh Day Set for April 24 at Persons Park
The second annual Mikie Furrh Day is planned for Saturday April 24 from 8 am to 4 pm at Persons Park. Sponsored by the Grand Saline Youth Foundation the event honors Furth who was killed in February 1998 in a traffic accident. Activities include summer league team pictures from 8 to 11 am a home run derby a pitching contest radar gun readings and a volleyball tournament. Trophies prizes and a memorial awning will be dedicated the day with public access and contact numbers for info.
