Pork price saga spans Civil War to today
The article notes pork costs in the Civil War at about 12 dollars per 100 pounds and recent figures around 16 840 dollars. It compares gold and paper money values, claiming a dollar in paper is now worth a gold dollar. It concludes pork would be 47 dollars per hundred if current depreciation matched sixties levels. Geo Horn of Vesper visits the city for business. AD Worn leaves Marshfield hospital after typhoid and surgeries with nursing credit. He lost over 100 pounds but is recovering weight and strength.
