Barbecue Hosts Graham School Staff By Local Club
The Chautauqua Literary Club of Graham treated the Graham school faculty and board to a Friday barbecue at Mr and Mrs A A Morrison’s home on South Elm Street. About a hundred guests enjoyed salads barbecue hot coffee cakes and a stunt party after dinner, praising the hospitality and comradeship fostered by the club.

Contracts Signed for Extension of Paving in Graham
Graham completes paving around the square with brick laying starting immediately. Wm G Morrison of Plains Paving Company says the contract extends paving on all four sides and adds twenty five feet toward the courtyard park. A gravel strip will separate sections for parking. A resolution covers paving South Elm Street to the Union Passenger Station, not yet drawn. Officials hope completion before the Young County Fair in November.

District Courts Close Week With Convictions
In Graham the 92nd and 30th district courts closed a hectic term with six convictions and one acquittal from seven cases tried. Sam Washburn received three years for illicit liquor manufacture east of Graham. Elmo Washburn with a three and a half year suspended sentence. J B Whalen two two year terms for embezzlement. Joe Cloud acquitted on liquor manufacture charge. Several cases were continued or dismissed.

Graham lacks a local Commandery of Knight Templar Masons but several Graham Knights recently traveled to Jacksboro to participate in degrees. Candidates were G. Mayor Stinson’s Son Hurt in Louisiana Hospital Suffered Fracture
Mayor W P Stinson received a letter from his son Reno reporting a compound fracture of a lower limb. He has been in a Louisiana hospital since August 7 and will need crutches for about two months more, much to Graham friends’ regret.
