A D Butler vs Jno Morrison Co awarded plaintiff $757.50. Gun Club scores from September 11 and a special shoot on September 14 produced multiple scores for professional and amateur shooters in Graham.

Oil Struck Friday Night Near Andrews North of Town
An oil well named Harmonson No. 2 struck oil Friday September 13 in the Andrews field about six hundred feet northeast of the Miller well. The depth reached nine hundred fifty feet with similar oil quality to the Miller well. A new rig sits about one thousand feet southwest of Miller and drilling begins. Work on the Graham well paused by a breakdown but repairs should allow boring to resume soon.

No Band Concerts Owing to Mission Society Event
The Women's Mission Society of the Methodist church plans an entertainment at the Opera House tomorrow night, so the Firemen's Band will not perform. If possible, a concert is planned for the following week and again on the first Friday night in October. Nine hundred thirty seven bales of cotton have been bought in Graham this season through last night. Mrs Retta Puckett and her daughter Ruth arrived from Dallas and visited her father L P Brooks at Medina Chapel today. R A Drum, former leader of the Farmer Brass Band, was in Loving last Monday. He has spent most of the last two to three years touring as a drummer. Hon C W Johnson, gubernatorial candidate, left for San Antonio to join the Republican State Executive Committee meeting to plan the campaign. The daughter of Mr and Mrs John Haynes died in Oklahoma City last week. Mrs Haynes, formerly Miss Addie Eddleman, attended the funeral with Mrs Mattie and Miss Bertha Eddleman. C W Day of Fort Worth leased the Dolman House and now runs it. Mrs Dolman departed for Fort Worth to run a rooming house, accompanied by her son John Gallaher who works there.

Hail Storm Ravages Crops and Property in Eastern County
A severe wind rain and hail storm last Tuesday damaged crops and buildings across the eastern county. Flat Rock suffered extensive cotton and garden losses, with melons and vegetables ruined. A nearby barn struck by lightning at the J. F. Clark farm burned, destroying maize heads oats and corn valued around $1 000. Two railroad officials were hurt by hail while stopping near Bryson. Train windows broken near Newark. Opera House event planned at the Methodist church tomorrow.
