In a notice about last Sabbath denomi national activities the paper misstated Brother Rouse sermon topic. The correct outline was on the Bible doctrine of Sanctification instead of What the Bible says about Consecration. The revival drew large crowds with music noted as the best yet, and thirty three souls joined the church.
A protracted meeting of the Christian denomination ended last Sunday night after two weeks of preaching by Rev. C F Pearce pastor of the Christian church His sermons were strong and reasonable appealing to listeners and aimed to inspire a better life and positive change.
Miss Dorrit Ashton stars as Lady Isabel in the new East Lynne touring production to debut at the Opera House on September 14. The act is described as emotionally clever and Miss Ashton has long onstage experience with renowned players. The supporting company is said to be high grade, carefully chosen by Miss Ashton, with a history of successful Southen runs and no adverse criticisms. The Orpheum Theatre opens under George Harris and Hardin Smith with a moving picture show featuring modern electric lighting and top quality films, promising nightly performances and clean programming from northern film concerns. J. H. Whitener and Miss Annie Mayes were married at the bride's sister Mrs. J. C. Carmack home in east Graham. The ceremony occurred Sunday morning at 6:30 with Dr. W. T. Rouse, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. The bride is recognized as a leading Young county teacher.
