Cowboys Hold Off United Comanches at Salt Creek Gully
In 1869 a small band of Texas cowboys battled a Comanche attack at Salt Creek Gully. Capt. Graves and nine companions withstood a brutal siege, repulsed charges, tended the wounded, and endured a long night of watch and thirst. By morning help arrived from Harmonson’s ranch, but two men died of arrow and gunshot wounds.

The groom, a food printer, recently worked in Graham and is well thought of. The bride grew up in Graham and will share a life with Long here. The couple will reside in Graham.
