Longtime Graham Resident Mrs Eichelberger Dies After Stroke
Mrs. H. B. Eichelberger, 82, suffered a stroke at home Saturday night and died after a second stroke early Sunday. A Graham native since 1877, she is survived by three stepchildren, C. W. Johnson of Graham, Carrie Joline of Wichita Falls, and Bert Eichelberger of western Texas. Funeral services are planned for tomorrow with time to be announced.

Rally Day in Graham Nets Bond Subscriptions and Prizes
A large Graham crowd gathered in the district courtroom for rally day to promote Liberty Loan Bonds. Two $50 bonds were given away to a six year old boy and to W W Martin. Addresses by Rev Gary L Smith Dr R A Pettey and S R Crawford preceded county salesman M K Graham’s push for subscriptions, with about $20,000 in bonds subscribed at the event. The total, combined with prior subscriptions, advances Young County toward its quota. The full subscriber list will be printed next week.

Young County Teachers Institute Convenes in Graham
The Young County Teachers Institute met at Graham Public School Monday morning and will close tomorrow after a fire caused minor disruption. One hundred nine teachers attended, praising the event as the county’s most entertaining and successful. Lectures by State Superintendent Doughty Dr H K Taylor and Dr H T Stoltzfus were noted as instructive with Miss A giving a lecture by Hon Edgar P Haney closing the program. Graham welcomes the teachers and looks forward to their return next year.
