One-Legged Man Arrested for Bootlegging in Newcastle
Sheriff Mal Wallace arrested J. E. Williams from Lawton Oklahoma on bootlegging charges Sunday evening in Newcastle. Williams, a one legged man, was found with two suitcases of whiskey stored in a bank vault for safekeeping, and he is jailed here pending further action.

Mrs Fain Undergoes Successful Operation in Fort Worth
Mrs Fain, mother of Mrs H E Griffin, arrived from Cleburne in a special Pullman car with Drs Saunders Beall and H E Griffin. They operated at the home of Dr and Mrs Griffin. The 70 year old patient is recovering well after a successful surgical procedure assisted by a son and two daughters from Cleburne.

Graham schools reopen after fire disruption
Despite the destruction of the Public School building by fire last week, school departments resumed Monday in town churches. Teachers and pupils report satisfactory progress and will maintain Graham's reputation for strong schools. F. P. Burch Dies Suddenly
Frank P. Burch, longtime resident, died of heart failure at his home northwest of town last Saturday. He was known as a progressive, valued citizen with substantial property. Survived by his widow, two sons at home Charlie and Eugene, three daughters Mrs. Grover Perdue Mrs. S. M. Richardson and Miss Myrtle Burch, and three sons Wiley Leland at Eureka Springs Arkansas and Tom Burch of Nicklesville Virginia were away. Funeral held today due to absence of sons.
