J A Bichelberger of Wichita Falls died in a hospital there after illness following the Texas Oklahoma Fair week. He had lived in Midland four years and worked in oil operations and with Magnolia Petroleum Company. Survived by widow two daughters and two sisters Mrs C W Johnson and Mrs Carrie Joline. Funeral held at family residence in Wichita Falls with I O O F and Rebekahs honors.

City valuation and tax estimate for next year

Mrs E H Morrison led a mental efficiency lesson and Mrs J G Harris shared teaching experiences. The group adjourned to meet October 25 at Mrs W Z Allen, with a salad course and coffee served.

County Agent Kemp's Term Ends. Court Discontinues Contract
The Commissioners Court voted in October to discontinue its contract with County Agent Edgar Kemp on December 1. Kemp served four years aiding agricultural and livestock interests, surveying terraces, combating hog cholera, coordinating veterinary services, aiding sales and dairy cattle, promoting vaccination, and introducing new seeds and seed wheat. The best completion in the Young County field this week was by C R Miller for Tyrrell Oil Corporation with a new sand at 2780 feet west of Herron City producing around 400 barrels. Gulf-Mahaney reports a strong gasser over a 3900 foot sand and Nash Windfohr show a gasser at 2300 feet east of Herron City. Operators are holding leases and drilling offsets with little current development awaiting higher crude prices.
