Inside Graham Texas 1879 to 1880 county and town growth
In 1879 the Northern Judicial District of Texas was created with a federal court in Graham. The town’s rise prompted plans for a federal building, and J E Ryus built a court quarters above his drugstore. Eliasville and other towns grew with mills, stores, and trades. A 1879 murder on Fish Creek led to the execution of Jack Post and life sentences for Nelson Post. 1880 brought political and economic shifts with a Greenback presence, re-elections in county offices, and new district leadership.

County Union Meeting at Lower Tank Valley
The Young County Farmers' Union met at Lower Tank Valley school house with County President W. P. Stinson presiding. A large mixed gathering from all local unions heard speeches and passed a resolution to hold cotton at 11 cents per pound. A second evening meeting drew over a hundred attendees and adjourned near midnight to meet in Graham the first Friday in January.

Freeman the Jack county murderer recaptured near Fort Worth
