A man, L. A. Lamar, threw sheep shears at a chicken causing the blades to strike his two year old child in the bowels and fatally injure him near Finis in Jack county. The grieving father and community extend sympathy as the tragedy prompts inquiries into the incident.

The County Court adjourned after a week of cases including State v. Campbell acquitted for disturbing religious worship, State v. Abernathy dismissed, and Floyd Lewis case continued after a hung jury. Other verdicts: Baldwin and McLaren found not guilty on liquor and pistol charges. Judge Timmons praised for rapid docket management.
The Grazam Public Schools offer Languages Higher Mathematics Sciences Music Elocution and Oratory for primary and preparatory grades with a full staff. Session runs September 4 to June 18 1894 under Superintendent Jon Jouneros and Principal Fowner.
