Mrs J T Sain Dies In East Graham Funeral Held
Mrs J T Sain died at her home in east Graham last Monday morning and her remains were buried in Oak Grove cemetery at 10 o'clock Tuesday. Funeral services were led by Rev B A Snoddy. A devout Methodist and beloved neighbor, she leaves five children and a devoted husband, with the community extending sympathy in this sad hour.

The Merchants Carnival drew what was likely the largest audience in city history at the opera house last Thursday. Nearly a hundred young ladies and girls performed, with every local business represented. The event, run by the Ladies Aid of the Christian Church, netted about 75 dollars, a strong result for home talent.

Davis Arrested for Polecat Hide Theft in County
Listen J. A. Davis was arrested at Farmer last Monday evening and brought to town by constable W. J. Jennings on a charge of stealing nine polecat hides and was released on $300 bond. He will be tried in County court on Monday, December 5. Mrs. Catherine Catlin died in the county poor house last Friday night and was buried in Oak Grove cemetery Saturday evening at 4 30. Her death was caused from old age and she had lived in the county a number of years.
