Governor Walton Impeached by Oklahoma Senate
Oklahoma Senate impeached Governor Walton after a dramatic trial in which he walked out, then found guilty on eleven of twenty two charges. The charges include improper appointments, misuse of funds, suppression of legal processes, martial law declarations, payroll abuses, and abuse of pardons. Walton sought federal relief, was denied, and appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Fifty-eighth Annual Central Texas Conference in Temple announced appointments for the coming year. Rev J W W Shuler will succeed Rev T B Bowman as Graham pastor with Bowman moving to Gatesville. Marvin McBrayer, a Young County native, was admitted to the conference and assigned to Whitt. The Graham church recently built a new house of worship praised as a monument to Bowman. Graham Texas fans will see top horse racing December 1 at Fair Park with about thirty entries across four races. J W Carlton in charge notes strong track condition and purses for Class I three places 50 30 26 dollars Class II 30 20 10 dollars saddle races 25 15 10 and a pony race pending payouts. Entries must reach Carlton by November 30 for proper arrangements. Admission 25 and 50 cents with proceeds beyond costs funding track improvements.

Dr Cook Sentenced to 14 Years for Mail Fraud
Dr Frederick A Cook oil operator and sole trustee of the Petroleum Producers Association was found guilty in Fort Worth federal court of mail fraud. He received 14 years and nine months in prison and a $12 000 fine. Several co defendants were given prison terms and fines. Judge Killits delivered a scathing rebuke, accusing Cook of stealing from widows and orphans and urging punishment beyond the courtroom.
