The town enjoyed a bustling Big Monday with crowds from morning till night. The street carnival and animal tent drew strong attendance and fair profits. Lions were praised as the best trained. the minstrel show drew mixed reviews, especially from children. The carnival concluded with its departure on Tuesday morning.
Mrs A B All'Sson of Woocksan underwent an operation at Beckham Sanitarium Monday morning. She is reported to be doing extremely well and expected to return home in a few days.
Alvin Albert Staats died at the family home last Friday morning and was buried that evening in Oak Grove cemetery. He was the only son of S. M. Staats, who moved here from Granville Illinois about three months ago. His wife and mother had been dead for some time. Alvin was thirteen years, six months and seven days old at death. He had two sisters living here with their father.
The office was shown four large sweet potatoes raised on R M Todd's farm near town. The four tubers together weigh about twenty pounds, growing from the same hill and root, a remarkable yield for the area. The note invites readers to see them when in town next week.
Mrs J C Owens underwent an operation at Beckham Sanitarium Saturday and is reported improving. A coughing spell kept her awake until daylight last night, but she is resting well now and her husband expects she may go home in a few days.
Rev C M Dellinger moves from Eliasville to Bridgeport and will serve as pastor at the Presbyterian Church here. He preaches two Sundays a month in Bridgeport and one Sunday in Chico, bringing new life and growth to the church and a welcomed addition to the community.
R D Owen brought a four legged chicken to town last Monday. It walks on two legs and is otherwise of ordinary size. The carnival showing it hoped to sell the freak bird, but it is unclear if the show purchased it.
Newly elected Justice of the Peace C. D. Brewton performed his first wedding yesterday afternoon uniting Mr. Pete Paschall and Miss Jewell Lines of Olney. Witnesses say Squire Brewton proved equal to the occasion in every particular.
Charlie Lunsford and Miss Mil dred Baughn were married in Archer City Friday night and are now at home to friends in Olney. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mrs. F. A. Baughn and is praised as accomplished and beautiful. The groom runs a garage in Olney and is described as hardworking and upright, with many friends offering congratulations. The Enterprise joins in wishing them a long, happy married life.

The infant son of Mr and Mrs Henry C Wilson died at their home last Friday morning after a long illness. He was buried in Eliasville Cemetery the following day.
Reverend Gaimes B Hall delivered a bouquet of crysanthemums to The Leader office today. He grew the flowers in his own yard. Several blooms measure six to seven inches across, with the largest being bronze and bright yellow roses, plus red and white varieties.
The old commissioners court delayed, then stepped down while the newly elected County Judge and commissioners began their duties. The new body met yesterday and are already handling county affairs with evident familiarity and busyness.
Dr. Durham identified as part of the large Monday crowd at the event in Farmer. He was noted among attendees with no further details about actions or outcomes.
George Whiteley and three ladies escaped serious injury after a rear end mishap while returning from Graham to Newcastle. Whiteley’s Remington rifle wedged under the clutch, tipping the Ford, radiator bent, fender dented, but running parts unharmed. A machinist and auto club assisted. car to town for repairs.
