Fishermen Bring In Record Catfish On Clear Fork
Marion Wallace, John Bower, Clay Wilson and Tom McKinney fished near Eliasville and returned to town with a 46 1/2 pound catfish feeding 25, plus a 31 1/2 pound catch given to a new Olney crowd. They were seining and the big fish fought hard, biting and thrashing as they were netted. The Olney group included W Y Kennedy, Les Hathcock, H M Anderson, Burk Paschall and J B Lunsford.

Club Meeting Brings Pleasant Afternoon and Music
The Club met with Mrs. Gaines B Hall last Tuesday afternoon. Twelve members answered roll call with visitors Mesdames Walter Price L A Ringgenberg I T Gilmer J Hall Bowman B B Garrett R A Duncan and Miss Mayzelle Morrison. Vocal numbers by Mesdames Duncan and Gilmer enhanced the gathering. Hostess with Miss Mayzelle Morrison and Mrs Evans Mabry served pineapple cream and wafers. The next meeting will be with Mrs. C P Hutchison. J A Caudil of Pickwick is seriously ill for several days with little hope. Two brothers and a sister from Oklahoma and two sons have attended at his bedside. Mr Caudil, an old settler, came to the country about forty years ago.

On May 26 Baptist and Methodist shared 241 in Sunday school. Baptist offering 12.80 and Methodist 6.62 with 6 new pupils. Christians had 212 present and 17.77 in offerings. Presbyterians had 136 present and 5.17 in offerings.

Graham High School appoints new principal
At the school board meeting L. F. Gilliland of Mood Texas was elected principal to succeed Rider who resigns to attend Baylor University. Gilliland, a State University man, brings two years of successful classroom experience in Bell County and comes well recommended by local trustees.

Baptist Revival Begins at Local Church in Strong Start
The Baptist Church held Sunday night revival services under favorable conditions led by Dr. D. R. Taylor with large nightly audiences. The choir conducted by Mr. J. T. Rickman provided music as Wade Stanford and Miss Myrtle Smith wed last Sunday morning at the bride’s parents’ home with Elder J. H. Fisher officiating.

Prof Crabb Recital and Scale Contest At High School
Friday and Saturday in the High School Auditorium featured Prof Crabb teaching music programs. A general recital included all his pupils, with the scale contest Saturday afternoon drawing much interest. Medals were awarded by Supt Edgar McLendon after the graduation exercises Monday night. Elsie Ruben Koenig won best writing. Louise Norris and Grace Bowen tied for beginners and will both receive medals. Beulah Beil won the advanced medal and the scale contest medal. Prof Crabb will remain in Graham next year.
