Man Thrown From Stalk Cutter as Mules Run Amok
D. L. Higgins was thrown from a stalk cutter last Thursday around 4 PM while driving a team of young fractious mules. He was dragged about thirty feet, left unconscious briefly, revived, then taken to town for medical care and sent home.

Big Road Meeting at Newcastle for Oil Belt Highway
A large turnout from Graham and Olney met in Newcastle to back securing the Oil Belt Hard Surfaced National Highway from Wichita Falls to Brownwood and to organize a county association. M K Graham was chairman and W P Reynolds secretary. a meeting in Graham on April 4 was set to finalize the county group with a complimentary dinner for Young County male voters.

Mrs J D Lowe Dies After King Illness Near True
Mrs J D Lowe died at her True area home last Monday evening at 8 o'clock after a king illness. She had lived there fifteen years and was known as a devout Christian and active church worker. She is survived by a husband to whom many friends extend sympathy.

Hot water strikes and oil shows at Lisle well south of Graham
Drillers at the Lisle well south of Graham struck very hot black water at 3840 feet with a sour odor. Small pockets of superior grade oil were found and a gas flow sufficient to supply Graham at about 2000 feet. If no paying oil is found, the well may be sunk to 5000 feet. At Goode well near South Bend drilling faced cold weather and accidents but recent showings raise hope for a productive well before summer.
