Barnett Receives Life Term For Archer Co Killing
Bob Barnett former Archer County peace officer was found guilty and sentenced to life in the penitentiary for his alleged role in the fatal shooting of Sheriff Harrison Ikard near Megargel on September 22 1925. The State contends Barnett supplied arms and directed a conspiracy that led to Ikards death during a cigarette theft investigation.

At a Graham Music Club meeting arrangements were made to hold the final program of the year at night for city-wide attendance. The event, a free open meeting featuring Texas composers, will be at the First Methodist Church on Thursday night April 8, with Mrs. W. D. McFarlane in charge of the concert.

The C L S C met with Mrs H E Griffin on March 24 with eight members answering roll call and quoting the Sermon on the Mount. Plans were made for Mrs Josephine Obenchain of Dallas to speak April 2 in the high school auditorium on negro dialect.
