Miss Mattie Bryan and Mr Roy Franks were united in marriage Saturday evening at the Methodist parsonage with Rev Frank E Singleton officiating. The Leader and many friends extend congratulations and wish them a long and prosperous life.
Irrigating Experiment by Local Farm Leader
M K Graham replies to inquiry saying he bought a 20 horsepower International Harvester and a No 6 American Centrifugal pump with 1100 gallons a minute capacity to run irrigation experiments on his farm near Singleton Ford on the Clear Fork of the Brazos this year. He plans to irrigate 20 acres in corn from a tank on one of his farms, a notable step for the county’s largest landholder who tends to succeed in all ventures.

Funeral for Miss Annie Harrell taught and mourned
Miss Annie Harrell eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs M D Harrell of South Bend died last Monday after months of illness. She taught away from home and returned to receive care but passed peacefully. A large crowd attended her funeral at Oak Grove with services by Rev Arthur Thomas of Eliasville and heartfelt tributes from friends and family. The community extends sympathy to her parents and kin. A revival meeting at the Baptist church begins next Sunday with Bro Searborough and Bro J A Brown bringing sermons and an Italian harp guest performer to entertain and uplift the town.

Old Timer J J Murray Visits County After Long Absence
J J Murray, namesake of Murray and first postmaster there, rode in on Friday night to reconnect with old friends in the county. He was greeted by Thomas Price, an early settler, and will spend a few days touring his old home. Murray recalls hunting buffalo in the county with Price in 1876 and notes how the town and country have changed since his departure more than thirty years ago.

Surprise Birthday Dinner For Dr Chism At Home
Saturday evening at eight o clock Mrs M H Chism hosted a dinner for her husband Dr M H Chism and a few friends for his 57th birthday. Guests included Dr J W Gallaher J C Fisher W H Staton Mrs Fisher and Miss Grace Brown. Menu featured roast chicken macaroni and cheese potato chips salad olives marshmallow desserts and coffee. The party included stories jokes and a game of Rukes with couples paired for fun. Dr Gallaher noted the time and said it was wrong to play on Sunday. Guests departed at 12 30 a m with warm wishes for weekly birthdays instead of annual ones.

Breaks Jail at Fort Worth After Burglary Conviction
R. E. Gould convicted of burglary in this district last week was sentenced to two years in the penitentiary. He escaped from Fort Worth jail Tuesday morning and has thus far remained at large. The crime involved the burglary of the John B. Morrison Co. store at Loving. Gould had been jailed since arrest and trial, showing no escape attempts. A reward is offered for his capture.

Live Stock Show Echoes At Fort Worth Exhibition
Messrs. Graham and MacCorquodale lost Rambouff ram and five wethers at Fort Worth stock show on day two. W C Schultz of Millersville Texas praised their best wool and mutton sheep. Schultz later bought 27 Rambouillet rams shipped to his ranch. Dallas duo Wilson and Vensil took first and second in two car lambs and pens of five lambs. W T Brown of Breckenridge topped Texas wool market last season selling to Central Wool Storage. The burned ram weighed 306 pounds. five two year old ewes averaged 136 pounds. First prize loss noted with regret.
