Fire Department Responds to Two Week Fires
The city fire department answered two calls this week. At about five on Sunday a blaze at Walter Harrison residence corner Kentucky and South streets burned the building and contents with heavy loss. A second fire occurred around 1:15 Tuesday at J F Neil residence Grove and Fifth streets where a chemical engine quickly controlled the blaze though water damage occurred. Both fires were caused by oil stoves. The paper urges precise alarm information including name and exact street to improve response.
