Burglars Blow Newcastle Safe On Saturday Night
The John E. Morrison Company store in Newcastle suffered a safe blowout between 1 a.m. and dawn last Saturday. A heavy nitro glycerine charge damaged the outer door and inner lock, yielding over $200 in the second compartment. An adding machine was damaged. no other losses. Entry was gained via a rear window and a sawed iron door lock. Investigators have clues but no arrests yet.

Death Claims Another Aged Graham Citizen
R. L. Williams, a Graham resident for fifteen years, died of paralysis at his West Third Street home last Friday night at age seventy four. He worked at Graham Milling Co before resigning to join the Rock Island Railroad as a pumper.
