Jay Shannon and Watson Brazelton faced an examining trial before Squire Hall on Saturday for breaking into the B A Snoddy store around January 1. They were represented by C W Johnson and J W Akin with Fred T Arnold arguing for the state. They were bound over to await the September grand jury. W C Carel and wife of Ashland Oklahoma visit Mrs G W Black.
Jake Brown a pioneer resident of the Marktey community died at eight o clock last Saturday evening after a lingering illness. His remains were buried in the cemetery at Marktey Sunday evening.
One of the heaviest rains in years fell Monday night after a Sunday shower, soaking Young County. The timely rainfall benefits corn, wheat, oats and cotton futures, with forecasts of a bumper crop and strong ground conditions. Farmers report rapid crop growth and improved finances, boosting confidence across the county.
Presbyterian church reported thirteen decisions for Christ across three Sunday services and six new members with others to join soon. Pastor Gaines B. Hall urged ongoing prayer for God's presence and a year round revival.

The Priscilla Club gathered despite mud and rain for lively rock games hosted by Mrs. C W Johnson. Mrs C B Gardner won highest score earning embroidery scissors while Mrs Johnson and daughters served tea and refreshments. Visitors included Mesdames Street Crawford Wynns McPhails Hall Bowman Handy and Miss Jessie Nelson. Next meeting set with Mrs R E B Lynch.
On Sunday June 16 the Christian church reported 208 attendees with offerings totaling 4.62 dollars. The Methodists counted 203 with an unknown offering. The largest offering was 16.86 dollars for an unspecified group. Presbyterians contributed 5.43 dollars.
A large crowd is anticipated in Graham tomorrow to hear Morris Sheppard, candidate for the U S Senate nomination. Residents from the surrounding area will attend and local townsfolk will join in. The Firemen's Band will perform several selections before the address.
Several county court cases were continued due to high water and missing witnesses leaving July as the next regular term. State of Texas v Tom Parrott ended with a guilty verdict for having dead cattle in the public road near Proffitt. State of Texas v Dick Choate resulted in a guilty verdict for unlawfully selling whiskey.
The county democratic committee met to appoint election judges for twenty voting boxes and draw candidate placements for offices. They assessed each candidate to cover primary election costs due July 27. Knox Criswell reports wheat records and hopes for a three four th crop for corn if rain arrives early July.
Beginning Friday night before the second Sunday in July the Baptists hold an old-time camp meeting on the Clear Fork near Eliasville at the Re union grounds. Churches and the Young County Baptist Association Board seek a large attendance from nearby counties. The outing site is a known resort. plan to camp for at least ten days from July 12 to July 25, 1912.
In Fort Worth on Sunday morning June 2, Miss Tilda Robinson daughter of Mr and Mrs G W Robinson of Murray married Mr Donald Craig. The couple, both with local ties and respected backgrounds, now reside at 820 Ninth Avenue Fort Worth after the ceremony by Rev Downes of Polytechnic.
The Fifth chapter of Revelation forms the basis for the Bible study led by Miss May Hunter with prayer and song. The program includes talks by Mabry Short on The Book, Miss Lessie Loftin on The Lamb, and Mrs. J C Rickman on The Worshipers.
Mrs S R Jeffery and daughter Adele joined Mrs Ben Moseley for a Sunday visit at the Jeffery ranch in Ingleside. The group traveled by car and spent the whole day with Mr Jeffery and the boys, returning in the cool evening and reporting a very pleasant trip. It marked Mrs Moseley’s first outing from town in over two decades. Bruece Casburn arrived Monday from Newcastle.
