The Graham Public Library reports donations from the Lions Club totaling $10 for magazines and periodicals. Since moving to new quarters at the start of the month, the library has enjoyed strong patronage. This week’s new books include Billy Whiskers titles, Oz stories, classic adventure tales, Mother Goose, works by John Burroughs and David Crockett, Gulliver's Travels, Water Babies, At the Back of North Wind, Huck Finn, Tom Sawyer, and Japini's Life of Christ.

84 Year Old Men Celebrate Shared Birthday in Newcastle

Storm devastates area southeast of Loving in wide two mile storm
A destructive storm southeast of Loving damaged several houses and barns, blew down windmills and shattered roofs. The J W Blakeney home was destroyed while the Terrell family, McCluer barn, and Shoop barn suffered major losses. No injuries reported. most residents sought shelter in cellars.
