A narrator recalls a red headed woman and a comic street incident at a produce stand. He narrates his admiration and caution about natural red hair, a fruit-buying scene with a stormy reply, a mistaken identity, and his final reflection on the powerful impression of a red headed woman.
A silk flag will be presented to the young man under twenty one who delivers the best original oration at the Eliasville reunion. A flag will also be given for the best declamation or recitation by any young man or lady in Young county on that occasion.
A large delegation met at True eighteen miles north of Graham to transact business. Delegates including W. E. Baker Rob Casburn and B. Holt arrived and joined a lively session with guests from across the county. A welcome address preceded a long dinner and days of discussions, with J. W. Groves elected as delegate to the state Union and P. P. Cady as alternate. The next quarterly gathering will be in Tank Valley October 13. The union voiced unity and resolved to oppose certain amendments to the Fort Worth plan.
The text records union resolutions in Young County Texas advocating farming-only leadership and farmer candidates for state offices, plus a narrative of a rain soaked social visit to Mr. J. D. Lowe's home near True. Guests enjoyed a midnight violin and guitar quartet, with high praise for the Lowe couple's hospitality and entertainment.
A Graham mill upgrade details new dust collector purifier and milling separator enabling two grade flour and cleaner wheat. Barnard roller mills replace Buhr. dynamo electrifier for whitening flour. capacity about 75 barrels daily. Promotes home patronage and local wheat purchase to benefit Graham Young City and nearby counties.
The protracted meeting led by Rev. M. L. McDowell will end tonight after two weeks of earnest preaching. Six have joined the church, others show deep interest, and large crowds have attended each night though overall religious zeal remains cautious.
About 15 wagons from Bitter Creek and nearby areas helped J.J. Gray and sons haul in new gun machinery for Bitter Creek. A 50 horsepower boiler 45 horsepower engine three gin stands and 70 saws will be installed. The plant aims for nearly thirty bales daily capacity and a first class building. Helpers included Thedford Rogers Wilburn Doyle Carter Ragle and others.
