Wm. Johnson and son Willie of Gooseneck said crops of all kinds are in good shape in their area after a week of reports. The elder Johnson noted favorable conditions across the region.
Daniel Walker aged 79 died last Friday night at his son Willis Walker's home eight miles west of town after a period of feeble health. He and his wife moved here five months ago to live with their children. He leaves eleven sons and three daughters, all grown and married.

Mrs J J Daws died last Saturday at the Eliasville home after a lingering illness. She and husband Mr J J Daws raised a family of several children, five of whom are married and living. She was a devoted Christian whose life was marked by good deeds and tender devotion to family. Burial followed Sunday in Eliasville cemetery.
Rev Irwin Cunningham has recovered from illness and will occupy the pulpit at the Presbyterian church next Sunday morning and evening. A cordial invitation is extended to all to attend these services.
On a Wednesday night at a camp on Joe Wrights farm eight miles west of Graham Ovid Wright was stabbed in the right breast by Bart Taylor a youth employed by the Covington brothers tenants on the Wright farm. The dispute arose from practical jokes. Sheriff Wallace and Dr Gant aided at the scene and Taylor was arrested and held on a charge of aggravated assault. Wrights wound is not serious.
Last Saturday night the Woodmen of the World conferred the morning degree on eight members. The Woodmen Circle invited the ladies who attended to enjoy ice cream and cake, served for 15 cents a saucer to fund the Circle piano. Mrs. Finlay played piano, providing music for a festive evening.
